Meet Barbara

As of today, Barbara is taking over the blog-activities from Louise Snoek, who has decided to follow a new, creative challenge that unfortunately disable her to keep us up to date with the latest trends. Louise, thank you for all your inspirations and good luck with your new challenge!

To introduce Barbara to you: this half Indonesian, half Frisian multitalent works and lives in the north of the Netherlands. Influenced by the unshakable northern mentality, Barbara has a sense for picking out the most influencial and here-to-stay trends from the endless information stream that hits us every day. With a background in marketing and communication management and years of working experience in the fashion industry, she will share major trends, fashionable items, inspirations and much more with you.

When asked for her fashion inspirations, she answers: “I am fascinated by great style icons like Karl Lagerfeld and Coco Chanel. Their unique style, dedication, creativity and passion inspire me!” We wouldn’t be surprised if she’d make it to chief editor of an influential fashion magazine one day.

Hi! I would like to introduce myself, my name is Dominique Wolniewicz and I am 21 years old and … the new face of the limited edition Moon M. by Bagsac collection. Some time ago a I saw an announcement from Bagsac that they were looking for a model for a specific project. I love the brand and reacted immediately. To my surprise I got an email a week later informing me that they wanted ME! Of course I did not hesitate and immediately said yes!

The following week the photo-shoot took place. Nervous as I was I arrived at RAAK in Amsterdam. The store looked fab, they had beautiful clothes, shoes and jewellery in the shop. First the pictures with Dutch stylist, Monique Mathijssen were taken whilst I got my makeup done. After Monique finished her shoot we went to the studio of photographer Mike van den Toorn to shoot the styling advice videos. My hair was done and my clothes were chosen. In total I wore three different looks. In the videos that we shot Monique gave advice on how to create a certain look to go with each bag. There are three different themes, but a lot of different ways how to create them. I thought all the looks were really fabulous! One look I particularly liked, really bohemian! I cannot wait for the bags to arrive. (are you curious already?). During the day I met and talked to a lot of nice people and took lunch with them and at the end of the shoot we had a group picture taken with the entire team. We were all such beauties. It was really a top team and a wonderful day!

A week later I spontaneously got very busy. I travelled to Madrid to do more modelling work and spent a few days on castings. After that I flew to the Netherlands to do a fashion show for the Bijenkorf, then back to Madrid to finish my job there. I noticed that my modelling career is starting to take off and have therefore decided to take a break of my education, architecture at TUE, for about six months. I really want to focus on my modelling career now, especially since the career of a model is really short. And living in Madrid is not a punishment at all, the weather is great and I am really enjoying it! I am curious what you think of the shoot and of course what you think of the new Moon M. by Bagsac collection. I can already reveal that these fashionable bags are very beautiful.
